Marketing Communications Specialist

Municode's mission is to help connect municipal government with their residents. We provide integrated technology solutions to over 4,500 municipalities across the country that promote transparency, efficiency and engagement with staff and residents. Our goal is to help local government agencies more effectively engage with the citizens in their communities. 

Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic, motivated individual to join our marketing team! This is an entry level position supporting a wide range of marketing activities to increase brand awareness, drive leads, and to help us ensure company growth and success.  

What you will do:

  • Edit and/or generate copy for marketing and educational content including blog articles, press releases, white papers, website copy, case studies, newsletters, flyers, and more. 
  • Engage with current clients, plan in-person and over-the-phone interviews for press releases and testimonials.
  • Network with relevant news sources, associations, and influencers to share Municode press releases and other collateral.
  • Engage with current clients and create/submit award applications on their behalf.
  • Help develop and implement innovative marketing campaigns via various communication channels.
  • Complete RFPs for various departments as needed.
  • Coordinate to ensure proper SEO tactics via Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Facebook, and LinkedIn Ads.
  • Manage Municode’s relationship with current and future followers of the brand via social media.

What is helpful:

  • Ideal applicant will have recently graduated college or have less than 2 years’ experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree English, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Business.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, email distribution software (ie: iContact).
  • Tallahassee-based applicant.
